Deputy Prime Minister Qubad Talabani meets with Czech Consul General

Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq (GOV.KRD) – Deputy Prime Minister, Qubad Talabani, today met with the Czech Consul General in the Kurdistan Region, Mikhail Svoboda, to discuss strengthening bilateral relations.

The Deputy Prime Minister affirmed that the Kurdistan Regional Government remains committed to the implementation of its comprehensive reform agenda, and noted that the public’s cooperation and expertise from developed countries, such as the Czech Republic, contribute greatly to the process’ success.

The Deputy Prime Minister also updated the Consul General on ongoing discussions between the Kurdistan Regional Government and the Federal Government of Iraq, notably regarding the 2021 draft federal budget bill. He stressed that the regional government will abide by the law and the constitution on matters related to oil, government expenditures, and national revenues.

The Consul expressed his country’s readiness to assist the Kurdistan Regional Government in implementing its reforms and to explore areas of greater cooperation.
