Deputy PM Qubad Talabani meets with European Union Ambassador to Iraq

Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq (GOV.KRD) - Deputy Prime Minister Qubad Talabani today met with the European Union's Ambassador to Iraq, Martin Huth, and the Head of the European Union's Envoy Office in the Kurdistan Region, Vincent-Guillaume Poupeau.

Deputy Prime Minister Talabani affirmed the KRG has made significant progress with its reform plan and in strengthening ties with the Federal Government of Iraq, thanks to the Kurdistan Region’s close working relationship with partners in the region, including the European Union.

The Deputy Minister welcomed additional assistance from its European allies in the implementation of the 2021 federal budget law by both the federal and regional governments. He also called for the international community to help expand and protect democratic values in the region and support efforts by the KRG to promote peace and stability.
