Deputy Prime Minister Qubad Talabani meets Swedish Foreign Minister

Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq (GOV.KRD) – Deputy Prime Minister Qubad Talabani today met with the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Sweden, Ann Linde, to discuss bilateral relations and the latest political developments in the region.

Deputy Prime Minister thanked Minister Linde for Sweden’s role in helping advance governmental reforms. He also recognized the Swedish government’s ongoing support toward gender equality in the Kurdistan Region, which continues to be a priority for the KRG.

During talks about the current political climate in Iraq, Deputy Prime Minister Talabani emphasised that political parties in Baghdad should prioritise the wellbeing of the citizenry and avoid delaying the formation of a new government to immediately seek to address issues raised by the public during the election.
