Deputy Prime Minister Qubad Talabani meets with Italian Ambassador to Iraq

Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq (GOV.KRD) – Deputy Prime Minister Qubad Talabani today met with an Italian delegation headed by Ambassador Bruno Antonio and the Consul General to the Kurdistan Region, Michele Camerota, to discuss the latest development since the Iraqi elections.

The Deputy Prime Minister, joined by the Deputy Head of the Department of Foreign Relations (DFR), Daban Shadala, highlighted the importance of forming a new government in Baghdad to maintain peace and stability in Iraq and urged for current negotiations to prioritise the interests of the people. He also noted the KRG is continuing with its reform efforts and thanked the delegation for the Italian Consulate General ongoing support and cooperation.

Deputy Prime Minister Talabani reaffirmed the KRG is working hard to address the current migration crisis, including through domestic measures to build a stronger economic foundation in the Kurdistan Region and provide greater opportunities for its citizens.
