Statement by Deputy Prime Minister Qubad Talabani on the Kolajo attack

Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq (GOV.KRD) - “Today, we mourn the death of five brave Peshmerga soldiers who were killed in an ambush by cowardly ISIS terrorists near the border of Kolajo. Our prayers go to the families of our martyrs and we wish a speedy recovery to those who were injured in the attack.

“This attack is proof that ISIS still poses an threat existential threat to the Kurdistan Region and Iraq. We once again call for greater coordination between Peshmerga, Iraqi Security, and Coalition forces in our efforts to eradicate the scourge of ISIS from the region, as well as all urge for steps be taken to combat the spread of deadly terrorist ideology in the country.”
