Deputy Prime Minister Qubad Talabani meets with the new Head of EU Liaison Office in Erbil

Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq (GOV.KRD) – Deputy Prime Minister Qubad Talabani today met with Marie Paret, the new Head of EU Liaison Office in the Kurdistan Region, to welcome her into her new role and explore areas of greater collaboration.

As the formation of the new Iraqi government is underway, Deputy Prime Minister Talabani emphasised it was an opportunity for the Kurdistan Regional Government to work closely with the EU to ensure the Iraqi Constitution’s principles of inclusivity, democratic power-sharing, and meaningful representation are observed and respected.

Both sides agreed to continue coordinating on issues of gender equality, environmental protection, and the overall reform process.
