KRG Deputy Prime Minister Qubad Talabani meets with Swedish Ambassador to Iraq

Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq (GOV.KRD) – Deputy Prime Minister Qubad Talabani today welcomed the new Swedish Ambassador to Iraq, Jonas Lovén, in his new role and together discussed the formation of the newly-elected Iraqi government as well as bilateral relations between Sweden and the Kurdistan Region.

Deputy Prime Minister Talabani emphasised the post-election situation in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region will be a critical period for the country and that the formation of the new Federal Government of Iraq must be underpinned by peaceful dialogue and inclusivity.

The Deputy Prime Minister also highlighted the Kurdistan Regional Government welcomes additional support from Sweden in the implementation of governmental reforms, including exchanges with Swedish consultants and taxation system reform experts.
