Deputy PM Talabani meets with the Dutch ambassador to Iraq

Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq (GOV.KRD) – Deputy Prime Minister Qubad Talabani on Tuesday met with Dutch Ambassador to Iraq, Michel Rentenaar, to discuss the latest political developments in Iraq as attempts to form new government are ongoing.

The Deputy Prime Minister stressed that current negotiations should be underpinned by mutual respect and the desire to address long standing issues by bridging the political divide between parties in Baghdad.

He also noted that the upcoming election in the Kurdistan Region will require cooperation between all political parties and the government to ensure it proceeds peacefully and without any issues. The Kurdistan Regional Government will continue to implement reforms, including steps the Ministry of Peshmerga is undertaking in coordination with anti-ISIS coalition members.
