Deputy Prime Minister meets with UNAMI Chief

Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq (GOV.KRD) – Deputy Prime Minister Qubad Talabani today met with the Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General for Iraq, Jeanine Hennis-Plasschaert, to discuss the latest political development in the Kurdistan Region and Iraq.

During the meeting, both officials agreed all parties in Baghdad should prioritize meaningful dialogue and find broad consensus to form a new government that represents the interests of all Iraqis.

Deputy Prime Minister Talabani emphasized the need for Kurdish representatives in Baghdad to remain united to protect the constitutional rights of the Kurdistan Region.

The Deputy Prime Minister also stressed the KRG will continue to advance its progressive reform agenda and focus on strengthening relations with the Iraqi Federal Government.
