Council of Ministers approves new Government Employees Council structure

Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq (GOV.KRD) – Deputy Prime Minister Qubad Talabani on Tuesday met with the Head of the High Investment Council and the General Council of Government Services, Rebaz Hamalan, and the President of the Diwan of Council of Ministers, Umed Sabah, in Erbil to approve a new structure for the Council of Government Employees Services.

The new structure implements a number of decisions and recommendations previously presented to the Council as part of the Kurdistan Regional Government’s reform efforts, including updating the role of the General Council of Government Services and reorganizing public sector personnel according to needs and available expertise. Efforts also include defining the titles and job descriptions of employees in government institutions and digitalizing the information.

During the meeting, the Deputy Prime Minister emphasised the need for approaches that maintain administrative balance, ensuring the redistribution of employees among ministries and agencies of the Kurdistan Regional Government is based on strong evidence and best practices.
