Deputy PM Talabani meets with US General Consul in Erbil

Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq (GOV.KRD) – Deputy Prime Minister Qubad Talabani on Thursday met with US General Consul in Erbil, Robert Palladino, to discuss how to strengthen the private sector and reduce bureaucratic hurdles to businesses the Kurdistan Region.

The Deputy Prime Minister outlined steps by the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) to develop the private sector as part of its efforts to grow the Kurdistan Region’s economy and create more job opportunities. This includes measures to reduce bureaucratic hurdles and working with businesses on how to attract foreign investments.

Deputy Prime Minister Talabani praised the Consul for his efforts in facilitating exchanges between the KRG and the US Government. He also wished Consul Palladino the best in his future endeavours as his term in Erbil comes to an end.

Consul Palladino thanked the Deputy Prime Minister for his role in maintaining open lines of communications between the two governments and praised his work in combatting domestic violence and defending freedom of press in the Kurdistan Region.
