Deputy Prime Minister Qubad Talabani meets with Belgian Ambassador to Jordan and Iraq

Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq (GOV.KRD) – Deputy Prime Minister Qubad Talabani today met with the Belgian Ambassador to Jordan and Iraq, Philip Vanden, to discuss political developments in Iraq and the security situation in the country.

The Deputy Prime Minister expressed concerns regarding the withdrawal of the Sadr movement from the political process in Iraq, and warned the current political stalemate in Baghdad will only contribute to a worsening of the security situation and stability in Iraq. He also urged all parties to prioritize the needs of the citizens and reach a political agreement to end the crisis.

Discussing developments in the Kurdistan Region, Deputy Prime Minister Talabani outlined investments by the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) in renewable and clean energy, notably solar power, which will contribute to global environmental protection efforts and help reduce reliance on fossil fuels.
