Deputy PM Talabani meets with EU representative

Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq (GOV.KRD) – Deputy Prime Minister Qubad Talabani on Thursday met with the European Union representative in the Kurdistan Region, Marie Paret, to discuss recent political developments in Iraq.

Deputy Prime Minister Talabani underscored the need for constructive dialogue and for all parties to prioritize reaching a compromise to help overcome the current political gridlock. Both sides agreed a meaningful resolution should focus on serving the interests of the citizens of Iraq.

The Deputy Prime Minister reiterated the constitution remains the foundational framework for the relationship between Erbil and Baghdad, including how to resolve disputes in a peaceful manner.
