DPM Qubad Talabani meets with US delegation to discuss economic opportunities for the youth

Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq (GOV.KRD) – Deputy Prime Minister Qubad Talabani today met with a delegation from USAID to discuss measures the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) is taking to create opportunities for young people.

Deputy Prime Minister Talabani thanked the US for its ongoing support to the Kurdistan Region, especially through USAID which has sent an advisor to help the KRG advance its reform agenda.

In the meeting also attended by the US Consul General, Irvin Hicks, The Deputy Prime Minister also welcomed the possibility for additional support to provide opportunities for the youth. He noted the KRG has taken steps to make it easier for young people to start businesses, reducing red tape and strengthening the private sector.

The delegation expressed its readiness to support initiatives for the youth in the Kurdistan Region and coordinate more closely with the KRG on the matter.
