DPM Qubad Talabani receives US Consul General

Erbil, Kurdistan Region (GOV.KRD) - Deputy Prime Minister Qubad Talabani today received the US Consul General, Irvin Hicks.

Both discussed ways to develop cultural events across the Kurdistan Region, particularly in Slemani province, known for its historical role as the center of culture.

They also agreed on working towards creating initiatives to connect Kurdish and American artists together, particularly through the US’ 18 exchange programs.

Deputy Prime Minister Talabani pointed out the significance of promoting and encouraging art in the Kurdistan Region so that Kurdish artists can preserve their rights and make a living out of their creative products.

The Deputy Prime Minister urged the US to assist the KRG to accomplish these goals.
