Prime Minister Masrour Barzani receives the US Ambassador to Iraq

Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq (GOV.KRD) – Prime Minister Masrour Barzani today received the US Ambassador to Iraq, Matthew H. Tueller, and the US Consul-General in Erbil, Steven Fagin, to discuss the latest developments in Iraq and the Middle East.

Prime Minister Barzani welcomed the strengthening of bilateral relations between the two nations. He also stressed the importance of creating stability in Iraq in order to preserve peace, security and the democratic and economic progress achieved by the Kurdistan Region.

Prime Minister Barzani emphasised that the Kurdistan Region will continue to play a positive and meaningful role as a force for stability in the region. He thanked Ambassador Tueller for his country’s support, including their acknowledgement of the progress made in talks between the Kurdistan Regional Government and the federal government of Iraq.
