Prime Minister Masrour Barzani receives Vice President of ICRC

Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq (GOV.KRD) – Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region Masrour Barzani on Wednesday received the Vice President of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in Erbil.

During the meeting, ICRC Vice President Gilles Carbonnier thanked the Kurdistan Regional Government for their long-standing commitment and cooperation allowing for the facilitation of life-saving projects and vital humanitarian work in the Kurdistan Region.

Vice President Carbonnier also confirmed that, in cooperation with the Kurdistan Regional Government, the organisation was building a new rehabilitation centre for people with special needs, bringing unprecedented support to the citizens of Erbil.

Prime Minister Barzani praised the ICRC’s humanitarian work both globally and in the Kurdistan Region and reaffirmed his government’s support for the organisation continuing a relationship that first began in 2003.
