Prime Minister Masrour Barzani receives Greek delegation

Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq (GOV.KRD) – Prime Minister Masrour Barzani today received the Greek Ambassador to Iraq, Leonidas Kontovounesios and Consul-General of the Hellenic Republic to Erbil, Efthymios Costopoulos.

During the meeting, the officials discussed strengthening bilateral relations between Erbil and Athens, noting both countries’ shared experience hosting millions of refugees from Iraq and Syria.

Ambassador Kontovounesios recognised the Kurdistan Region as a haven for those escaping violence, and the KRG as a driver of stability in the region.

Prime Minister Barzani stressed the new government’s focus on delivering economic growth and improved public services to support better opportunities for citizens.

Prime Minister Barzani also updated Ambassador Kontovounesios on investment opportunities in the Kurdistan Region.
