Read out of PM Masrour Barzani’s call with PM Mustafa Al-Kadhimi

Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq (GOV.KRD) - Prime Minister Masrour Barzani spoke by telephone with Iraqi PM Mustafa Al-Kadhimi on Saturday to discuss outstanding issues between Erbil and Baghdad.

Both agreed that any solution or agreement must be on the basis of the Constitution, and recognise Kurdistan Region’s federal status and the interests of the Iraqi peoples.

They also discussed progress in recent negotiations. During the call, Prime Minister Barzani and Prime Minister Al-Kadhimi agreed to send IQD 320bn monthly as a partial restoration of KRG’s share of the federal budget to pay public sector salaries.

The two sides stressed that negotiations will continue for a lasting and solution in line with both parties’ rights and duties in the Constitution.
