Prime Minister Masrour Barzani discusses bilateral relations and cooperation on sports with Iraq’s Minister of Youth and Sports

Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq (GOV.KRD) – Prime Minister Masrour Barzani today received Iraq’s Minister of Youth and Sports, Ahmed al-Obeidi.

They discussed the need to further strengthen ties between the Kurdistan Regional Government and the federal government of Iraq, particularly in the youth and sports sector.

Prime Minister Barzani conveyed the KRG’s support for the sector and affirmed that cooperation on sports, including the Kurdistan Region’s participation in international events, should not be affected by the political disputes between Erbil and Baghdad.

Minister al-Obeidi expressed his ministry’s readiness to strengthen and expand relations with the Kurdistan Regional Government.
