Prime Minister Masrour Barzani discusses security and cooperation with Iraq's Defence Minister

Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq (GOV.KRD) - Prime Minister Masrour Barzani today received the Defence Minister of Iraq, Najah al-Shammari.

They discussed the latest security situation in the country. Prime Minister Barzani emphasised that ISIS poses a growing security threat and called for further cooperation between Peshmerga and Iraqi security forces, particularly in the contested areas.

Minister al-Shammari acknowledged the importance of the Peshmerga in defeating ISIS and expressed his ministry's readiness for further cooperation and coordination with the Kurdistan Region.
