Prime Minister Masrour Barzani receives German Foreign Office delegation

Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq (GOV.KRD) – Prime Minister Masrour Barzani and Deputy Prime Minister Qubad Talabani today received a delegation from Germany’s Federal Foreign Office headed by Philipp Ackermann, Director-General for Near and Middle East, Africa and Latin America.

The German delegation praised the Kurdistan Region for its role in de-escalating recent tensions in the Middle East. Prime Minister Barzani stated that the Kurdistan Region will remain a dependable ally in the region and an advocate of peace and stability.

Prime Minister Barzani affirmed that the Kurdistan Regional Government is committed to the security of its people. He emphasised that the international community must continue to support the Kurdistan Region and Iraq in their fight against terrorism.

The two sides also discussed the KRG's ongoing and constructive engagement with the federal government of Iraq. Prime Minister Barzani told the delegation that the KRG will continue to work towards the peaceful resolution of disputes and to ensure the protection of the Kurdistan Region’s constitutional rights.
