Prime Minister Masrour Barzani receives German parliamentary delegation

Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq (GOV.KRD) – Prime Minister Masrour Barzani today received a delegation of German members of parliament, including Markus Grübel and Jürgen Hardt.

Acknowledging the latest regional developments and close ties shared between the Kurdistan Region and Germany, Prime Minister Barzani thanked the German parliament for the provision of military training and support to Peshmerga forces.

Prime Minister Barzani also stressed the importance of the Global Coalition’s continued support to Peshmerga and Iraqi security forces in preventing the re-emergence of ISIS in the region.

Recognising the Kurdistan Region's role as an advocate of peace and stability, the delegation expressed the German government’s desire to further expand bilateral relations, with a focus on enhancing trade and direct investment.
