Prime Minister Masrour Barzani receives Global Coalition delegation

Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq (GOV.KRD) - Prime Minister Masrour Barzani today met with a delegation from the Global Coalition to Defeat ISIS in Iraq and Syria, headed by Deputy Commander Major General Kevin Copsey, to provide operational updates and discuss priorities.

Prime Minister Barzani reiterated the Kurdistan Region’s commitment to peace and security in the region and underlined the importance of continued support to the fight against ISIS. Both sides discussed avenues for further cooperation, including ongoing training for Peshmerga forces against the threat of ISIS.

Recognising the fact that terrorism still poses a serious threat to Iraq and the broader region, Prime Minister Barzani stressed that continued and enhanced coordination between Peshmerga and Iraqi security forces remains a critical factor to success against the group
