Prime Minister Masrour Barzani welcomes new Head of Japan Consular Office in Erbil

Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq (GOV.KRD) – Prime Minister Masrour Barzani today met with Arakawa Mikihiro, the new head of the Japanese Consular Office in Erbil, and the Director of the Office of the Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA), Toyama Kei.

The Prime Minister congratulated Mr. Mikihiro on his appointment and wished him success in his new role as he looks forward to working closely together to improve relations between the Kurdistan Region and Japan.

During the meeting, both sides discussed ongoing development projects in the Kurdistan Region and opportunities for greater cooperation with the Kurdistan Regional Government.

The Prime Minister thanked the Japanese officials for their country’s support and assistance, notably through JICA, which has been involved in the Kurdistan Region for a long time. He also reaffirmed the Kurdistan Regional Government's readiness to assist Japanese investors interested in doing business in the Kurdistan Region.
