A message from PM Masrour Barzani on Islamic New Year

Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq (GOV.KRD) – Prime Minister Masrour Barzani on Monday issued a statement in honor of the Islamic New Year.

Full statement from the Prime Minister:

“On the Hijri new year, I warmly congratulate Muslims of Kurdistan, Iraq, and the world. I ask God that the new year bring peace, prosperity, stability, and an end to the pandemic. I hope that you, the people of Kurdistan, abide by the restrictive measures and protect yourselves.

“This holy commemoration of the Hijra of Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) encourages us to be more forgiving, and to promote coexistence amongst all peoples in the Kurdistan Region.

“Happy New Hijri Year. May Kurdistanis, and all humankind, be safe and sound.”
