Statement from PM Masrour Barzani on latest ISIS attack

Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq (GOV.KRD) - With immense pain I can confirm that last night, as a result of a cowardly ISIS attack on a Qarachogh village, a number of civilians and Peshmerga were martyred and wounded.

I am deeply saddened by the loss of our citizens and brave Peshmerga. My thoughts are with the victims’ families and those injured.

ISIS terrorists have become a serious threat to people in the disputed territories and therefore we ask for immediate and stronger cooperation between the Peshmerga and Iraqi and Coalition forces. This will put an end to the regrouping of ISIS, prevent their hit and run attacks and protect the lives of locals and Peshmerga forces.

The Kurdistan Regional Government reiterates its readiness for all forms of cooperation to fight terrorism and establish stability in the whole of Iraq, especially in areas faced with these threats.
