Prime Minister Masrour Barzani meets with the regional Governors

Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq (GOV.KRD) - Prime Minister Masrour Barzani today met with the governors of the Kurdistan Region’s provinces to discuss administrative and financial concerns, as well as the government’s investment agenda for 2021.

Joined by Deputy Prime Minister Qubad Talabani, the Prime Minister highlighted the Kurdistan Regional Government’s efforts to distribute public sector salaries to the region's employees, which remains a priority for the government. He also updated the governors on ongoing discussions with the federal government and progress to secure the Kurdistan Region’s financial entitlements. The Prime Minister reaffirmed that several service delivery projects will continue to be implemented across the region with available revenue.

During the video conference, the Kurdistan Regional Government’s plans to implement projects in the sectors of electricity, health, agriculture, education, and infrastructure across all provinces was approved. The total amount of investment funds earmarked for these projects is 349,072,000,000 Iraqi Dinars, and will be allocated to each province as follows:

 

Sulaymaniyah Governorate:

114,350,000,000 Dinars (one hundred forty billion and three hundred fifty million Dinars)

 

• Halabja Governorate:

30,000,000,000,000 Dinars (thirty billion Dinars)

 

• Erbil Governorate:

128,352,000,000 (one hundred twenty-eight billion and three hundred fifty-two million Dinars)

 

• Duhok Governorate:

77,000,000,000 Dinars (seventy seven billion Dinars)

 

Total: 349,702,000,000 (three hundred forty-nine billion and seven hundred two million Dinars)
