Prime Minister Masrour Barzani receives US Ambassador to Iraq

Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq (GOV.KRD) – Prime Minister Masrour Barzani today received the US Ambassador to Iraq, Matthew Tuller, to discuss the situation in the country and the deepening of bilateral relations between the Kurdistan Region and the United States.

The US ambassador expressed his country’s support for the Kurdistan Region in confronting terrorism, notably following the recent attacks on Erbil. The Prime Minister assured the ambassador that the Kurdistan Regional Government is working closely with Coalition forces and the federal government to apprehend and bring the culprits to justice.

Recognising the strategic position of the Kurdistan Region in the Middle East, the ambassador reaffirmed the Kurdistan Regional Government remains an important ally of the United States. He also stated that, in cooperation with the federal government and the Kurdistan Region, the United States will work on bringing the perpetrators of the recent attacks to justice.

Prime Minister Barzani extended the Kurdistan Regional Government’s gratitude to the United States and the Coalition forces for their ongoing support and reiterated that the Kurdistan Region is committed to promoting peace and stability in the region.
