Prime Minister Masrour Barzani visits Directorate for Combatting Violence against Women and Families

Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq (GOV.KRD) – Prime Minister Masrour Barzani today visited the Directorate for Combatting Violence against Women and Families in Erbil.

The Prime Minister visited the directorate’s different units, particularly the one managing the 119 hotline, one of the most important and active parts of the Family Advisory Center. The hotline is designed to help victims of domestic abuse and violence for free, available 24 hours a day, and offers legal and psychological advice.

The Prime Minister praised the administration’s employees for their invaluable work and noted that the Kurdistan Regional Government remains committed to combatting all forms of violence. He also reaffirmed that every citizen is equal before the law and that women deserve to live freely, without fear and with full agency, knowing their rights will be protected.
