Prime Minister receives Armenian Deputy Foreign Minister

Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq (GOV.KRD) – Prime Minister Masrour Barzani today met with Artak Apitonian, the Armenian Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs.

Joined by the Ambassador of Armenia to Iraq and the Armenian Consul General in Erbil, the officials discussed the strengthening of historical ties between the Kurdistan Region and Armenia.

The Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia expressed his country’s desire and readiness to further develop cooperation with the Kurdistan Region in all sectors. He also thanked the Kurdistan Region for its continued support to the Armenian minority in the region, which has representation in the Kurdistan Parliament.

The Prime Minister congratulated the envoys on the opening of the Armenian General Consulate and the Armenian Cultural Center in Erbil, stating it will lead to the deepening of ties between the Kurdistan Region and Armenia.
