Prime Minister Masrour Barzani meets with the KRG delegation leading negotiations with Baghdad

Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq (GOV.KRD) – Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Masrour Barzani, today met with the delegation leading negotiations with the Federal Government of Iraq to discuss progress on issues related to oil and the 2021 federal budget.

During the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister and head of the negotiating delegation, Qubad Talabani, updated the Prime Minister on the latest developments in talks with the federal government. The negotiating team also stressed that dialogue with the federal government is ongoing and remains based on the constitution, with the aim of reaching an agreement that safeguards the rights and financial entitlements of the Kurdistan Region.

The negotiating team is scheduled to return to Baghdad next week to resume talks with the federal government.
