Prime Minister Masrour Barzani Receives Turkish Defense Minister

Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq (GOV.KRD) –Prime Minister Masrour Barzani today received Turkish Defense Minister, Hulusi Akar, to discuss regional developments and bilateral ties.

In the meeting, the two officials highlighted the importance of cooperation and the need to develop amicable ties, notably with the aim to preserve the peace and security of the region by strengthening collaboration between both sides.

The Prime Minister also stressed that the implementation of the Shingal treaty and the removal of unlawful militias are necessary measures to normalize the situation in the area and ensure the safe and dignified return of IDPs to their ancestral homes.
