Prime Minister Masrour Barzani Receives US Ambassador to Iraq

Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq (GOV.KRD) – Prime Minister Masrour Barzani today met with the US Ambassador to Iraq, Matthew Tueller, accompanied by the US Consul General in Erbil, Rob Waller, to discuss the situation in Iraq and bilateral relations between the Kurdistan Region and the United States.

The Prime Minister emphasised the Kurdistan Regional Government looks forward to working with the new President and his administration, who have extensive knowledge of the situation in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region. He also expressed the Kurdistan Region’s readiness to strengthen and deepen its relationship with the United States in all fields.

The officials also discussed progress with negotiations between Erbil and Baghdad, the upcoming Iraqi elections, and the importance of continued cooperation between security forces to counter the threats of terrorism and its effects on regional stability.
