PM Masrour Barzani meets with head of Iraqi central bank

Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq (GOV.KRD) – Prime Minister Masrour Barzani on Saturday met with the Governor of the Central Bank of Iraq, Mustafa Ghalib Mousif.

Prime Minister Barzani stated that reorganizing the banking sector is an important step in increasing investments and gaining the trust of international financial institutions.

Both sides discussed preventing the illegal use of money in businesses and terrorism.

Mousif addressed the cooperation between both sides, and said that the Central Bank of Iraq recognizes the Kurdistan Region’s Erbil branch as the main banking authority in the region.
