Prime Minister Masrour Barzani meets with Sadrist Movement delegation

Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq (GOV.KRD) –Prime Minister Masrour Barzani today received a high-level delegation of the Sadrist Movement led by Dr. Nassar Rubaye, the head of the Sadrist Movement’s Political Committee, to discuss the political situation in Iraq.

The Prime Minister reaffirmed the Kurdistan Regional Government remains committed to strengthening its relationship with the federal government and working closely with parties in Baghdad to improve governance in Iraq.

Both sides agreed that more support is needed to ensure the upcoming legislative elections in Iraq are held in a transparent, free, and fair manner. They also discussed the importance of resolving outstanding disputes between Erbil and Baghdad on the basis of the constitution and respect for the principles of equality.
