Prime Minister Masrour Barzani convenes High Council for Investment

Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq (GOV.KRD) – Prime Minister Masrour Barzani today headed a meeting of the Kurdistan Region’s High Council for Investment along with his Deputy Prime Minister, Qubad Talabani.

The meeting provided an opportunity for the Prime Minister to talk to industry professionals and experts on ways to revive and enhance investment in the Kurdistan Region, remove bureaucratic hurdles, and explore the creation of an online investment portal to support businesses, speed up projects, and diversify areas of investment.

The Prime Minister noted that the ninth cabinet of the Kurdistan Regional Government, since its formation, has worked to facilitate the investment process in the Kurdistan Region. It has also provided the necessary resources to local and foreign investors by reformulating and amending investment laws, developing online services, and following the “One Window” system to simplify the investment process and assist in meeting the needs of the Kurdistan Region.

Following a series of discussions and exchange of views, a number of decisions were taken to help attract investments in the region and update licenses for investment projects.
