Prime Minister Masrour Barzani receives Japanese Ambassador to Iraq

Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq (GOV.KRD) - Prime Minister Masrour Barzani today met with Japan's Ambassador to Iraq, Suzuki Kotaro, and the Head of the Japanese Consulate Office in Erbil, Nagayama Yoshiko, to discuss political developments in the region and bilateral ties between the two nations.

During the meeting, the Japanese Ambassador praised the Kurdistan Region’s role as a driver of stability in the region and highlighted the desire to further develop bilateral relations and Japan’s continued support to Kurdistan. He also noted the growing interest in the development of Japanese investments in the region and thanked the Kurdistan Regional Government for its ongoing assistance to Japanese NGOs and agencies.

The Prime Minister extended the Kurdistan Regional Government’s gratitude to the Japanese government for its support and reiterated that the Kurdistan Region welcomes the development of comprehensive relations with Japan.
