PM Masrour Barzani meets with Coalition Deputy Commander-in-Chief

Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq (GOV.KRD) – Prime Minister Masrour Barzani today welcomed Brigadier General Richard Bell, the new Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Coalition forces in Iraq and Syria, to discuss the current security situation in the region.

Prime Minister thanked Brigadier Bell for the Coalition’s ongoing assistance in the fight to eradicate terrorism. He affirmed the KRG remains committed to working with partner forces, including with Iraqi security forces to ensure the safety and stability of disputed areas.

Brigaider Bell agreed that continued assistance and support to the Peshmerga forces and greater coordination with the Iraqi Security forces remains critical to successfully confront threats posed by ISIS in the region.

He also praised the sacrifices and bravery of the Peshmerga forces in the fight, and expressed support for the KRG’s reform efforts within the Ministry of Peshmerga.
