PM Masrour Barzani meets with UN Special Representative to Iraq

Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq (GOV.KRD) –Prime Minister Masrour Barzani today received the Special Representative of the Secretary-General for UNAMI, Jeanine Hennis-Plasschaert.

During the meeting, they discussed the ongoing dialogue between the Kurdistan Regional Government and the Federal Government of Iraq to resolve outstanding disputes on the basis of the constitution.

The Prime Minister recognised the positive role of the United Nations in creating a space for peaceful dialogue between Erbil and Baghdad. He also acknowledged their contribution to the ongoing fight against ISIS and toward justice for victims of terrorism.

Prime Minister Barzani urged United Nations and the international community to help create proper conditions on the ground for the upcoming elections in Iraq to be credible, free, and fair.
