Prime Minister Masrour Barzani receives German Ambassador to Iraq

Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq (GOV.KRD) – Prime Minister Masrour Barzani today met with German Ambassador to Iraq, Ole Diehl, who paid a courtesy farewell visit to the Kurdistan Region as his term comes to an end.

Prime Minister Barzani, joined by German Consul General to Erbil, Klemens Semtner, thanked Ambassador Diehl for his hard work in strengthening ties between the European countries and Iraq and the Kurdistan Region.

Prime Minister noted that the Kurdistan Regional Government remains grateful for Germany’s ongoing support to the Ninth Cabinet on its reform plan and its push to bring stability and security to the region.

The German Ambassador affirmed assistance to the Kurdistan Region and the Peshmerga forces would remain a key pillar of the bilateral relationship between the two nations to combat the threat of terrorism.
