Statement by PM Masrour Barzani on 59th anniversary of Kurdistan Teachers Union

Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq (GOV.KRD) – Prime Minister Masrour Barzani today released the following statement to mark the 59th anniversary of the Kurdistan Teachers Union:

“Fifty-nine years ago, the Kurdistan Teachers Union was established. Since then, it has played a critical role not just in educating generations of bright and curious minds, but in promoting and defending the rights of the Kurdish people, its culture and its language.

On this day, I invite everyone to join me in thanking the teachers of Kurdistan, as well as the president and the employees of the Kurdistan Teachers Union, who continue to proudly serve their role as educators despite the many hardships we face as a nation.

Our duty is to support them as they shape the minds of our youth, and the Kurdistan Regional Government will continue its work to strengthen and improve the education system to better serve our teachers and students.”
