PM Masrour Barzani meets Head of Kurdistan Board of Environment Protection

Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq (GOV.KRD) - Prime Minister Masrour Barzani on Sunday met the head of Kurdistan’s environment board Abdulrahman Sidiq.

The Premier emphasised the environment’s importance as part of the ninth cabinet’s agenda whilst reiterating KRG promotion of environmentalism, in line with global reduction of carbon emission standards.

Sidiq briefed the PM on his team’s work and it’s cooperation with other government institutions.

The government has taken serious steps towards this especially by stopping oil field gas flaring and using excess gas to produce electricity, he said.

PM Barzani added that the KRG has also reduced waste so it has limited to no harm to the environment.
