PM Masrour Barzani congratulates new Patriarch of the Assyrian Church of the East

Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq (GOV.KRD) – Prime Minister Masrour Barzani on Monday called Patriarch Mar Awa the Third, to congratulate him on his appointment as the Patriarch of the Assyrian Church of the East.

The Prime Minister extended his best wishes and affirmed that the KRG is committed to promote peaceful coexistence between the various members of the Kurdistan Region’s diverse communities.

• Both sides agreed on the importance of protecting pluralism and religious freedom in the Kurdistan Region.
