PM Masrour Barzani meets US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Iran and Iraq

Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq (GOV.KRD) - Prime Minister Masrour Barzani on Thursday met a US delegation led by Jennifer Gavito, Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Iran and Iraq.

PM Barzani thanked her for Washington’s continued support, briefing the delegation on the KRG’s reforms, increasing income sources and rapidly improving infrastructure.

Both sides also discussed the latest developments in Iraq and the relationship between Kurdistan Region and the US.

Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Gavito underlined the importance of Kurdistan Region’s stability for the US, saying her visit reflects the high value America places on it.

Iraq’s upcoming elections, US-Iraq strategic dialogue, and fighting terrorism were also discussed.
