Kurdistan Region Prime Minister and President meet with a US Congress delegation

Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq (GOV.KRD) - Prime Minister Masrour Barzani and Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani on Saturday met with a US Congressional delegation led by Senator Lindsey Graham.

Prime Minister Barzani and President Barzani both expressed their gratitude for American aid to the Kurdistan Region, noting that the continuation of such support is essential to defeat the remnants of Islamic State (ISIS).

The US delegation reiterated that the Congress values the Kurdistan Region adding that, considering the challenges in the region, they believe the relationship between the Kurdistan Region and the US should remain strong.

Latest developments in Iraq, including efforts to form a new cabinet, and the Iraqi Federal Supreme Court’s latest decision against the Kurdistan Region’s oil and gas industry, were also discussed.
