Readout of Prime Minister Masrour Barzani’s call with UK Minister for Asia and the Middle East

Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq (GOV.KRD) - Prime Minister Masrour Barzani received a call today from UK Minister for Asia and the Middle East Amanda Milling to discuss Iran’s senseless attack on Erbil. They both called it as a gross violation of Iraq’s sovereignty.

Prime Minister Barzani explained ongoing efforts with the federal government to investigate and counter the disinformation campaign used repeatedly in recent attacks on the Kurdistan Region. He urged the United Kingdom to support Erbil and Baghdad in this effort.

Minister Milling reiterated that the United Kingdom stands with the people of the Kurdistan Region. The Minister also stressed strong support for the security and stability of the Kurdistan Region and Iraq.

Both agreed to stay in close contact.
