PM Barzani receives Canada’s Ambassador to Iraq

Erbil, Kurdistan Region (GOV.KRD)- Prime Minister Masrour Barzani today received Canada’s Ambassador to Iraq, Gregory Galligan.

Prime Minister Barzani touched upon the political situation in Iraq following the formation of a new government which has shaped a path towards solving the outstanding disputes between Erbil and Baghdad.

Ambassador Galligan praised the reforms made by the government, including the digitalization of public services and the adoption of measures to establish an e-governance system. He said that his government is ready to support the KRG in this regard.

Both discussed ways to enhance the already strong bilateral relationship between the Kurdistan Region and Canada.

They also discussed the importance of maintaining the stability and security in Iraq as well as the Kurdistan Region, the combatting of terrorist attacks and measures to curb the effects of climate change.
