Prime Minister Barzani meets with the President of the French Senate

Masrour Barzani, Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region, met with French Senate President Gerard Larcher in Paris on Thursday, 2/16, as part of his official visit to France.

The meeting discussed the general situation in Iraq and the region and the need to resolve the issues between the Kurdistan Region and the federal government on the basis of the constitution.

The French Senate President, with respect and appreciation, pointed to the struggle and sacrifices of the Kurdish Peshmerga, especially in defeating ISIS terrorists and protecting the different communities of the Kurdistan Region.

The Prime Minister thanked the French government and people for their support to the Kurdish people and briefed them on the reforms of the ninth cabinet of the Kurdistan Region Government.

The meeting also discussed the importance of implementing the Sinjar agreement, normalizing the situation in the region and paving the way for the return of refugees to their homes.
