Prime Minister Masrour Barzani meets with Prime Minister De Croo of Belgium
DAVOS, Switzerland- Prime Minister Masrour Barzani met today with Belgium’s Prime Minister Mr. Alexander De Croo on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum’s annual meeting in Davos, Switzerland.
Discussions focused on the bilateral relations between the Kurdistan Region and Belgium, and the latest developments in Iraq and the wider region. The meeting also discussed ways to promote cooperation and coordination between the two sides, especially in the field of trade and export of Kurdistan's agricultural goods to Belgium and wider Europe.
The Prime Minister expressed his appreciation for Belgium’s support to the Kurdistan Region as part of the international coalition against ISIS terrorists, and gave an overview of his last visit to Baghdad, his meeting with Iraq’s Prime Minister, and the importance of resolving pending issues between the Kurdistan Region and the Federal Government of Iraq.
For his part, Prime Minister De Croo pointed to the strong bonds between the two countries and referred to the Kurdistan Region as a strong partner of Belgium.
Discussions also covered the climate change and ways to address its negative ramifications.
